Truenas Core VM inside Proxmox (VM inside VM)

Hello, I've moved my Truenas Core to Proxmox. All works fine except a vm that I had running before inside Truenas when it was running natively. I did the nested vritualization settings here https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Nested_Virtualization and set my cpu type to host but the VM won't start. The status says running but VNC is not connecting, there's no ping to it and it can not be shut down - like it's frozen somehow. Any ideas how to debug this and is it even possible to run it like that?

It is generally not recommended to run virtual machines inside a virtualized TrueNAS instance. Therefore I would rather recommend migrating the virtual machine from TrueNAS to Proxmox and use TrueNAS just as a NAS and let Proxmox handle virtual machines. The TrueNAS Core Documentation or TrueNAS community forum might be helpful to you for debugging the issue within the TrueNAS VM.

I wonder why and who recommended this? I do this all the time with different nested hypervisors inside of PVE without any (unknown) problems. Sure, you can't live migrate, yet if you know that, it actually runs fine. I even tried PVE in PVE in PVE, which also worked - not fast, yet it worked.
