Setup Overview:

I have a server running Proxmox on a Dell R730, equipped with an Intel GbE 4P I350-t network card. This card has four network ports, which are configured as follows:

  1. Port 1: Connected to my ISP, providing internet access to the Proxmox server via a pfSense VM.
  2. Port 2: Used for the LAN network of the pfSense VM. This port is connected to my main PC and is configured as a private network with no external access.
  3. Port 3: Configured to carry multiple VLANs (such as 111.1.1.x, 192.168.1.x, 192.168.50.x, and 192.168.1.x) created on the pfSense VM. This port is connected to a UniFi USW Lite 16 PoE switch.
  4. Port 4: Dedicated to Proxmox management and also connected to the UniFi switch.

Additionally, I have a TrueNAS VM with three 4TB hard drives passed through, using IP 192.168.50.60, and a Windows machine with IP 111.1.1.11. There's also a UniFi controller VM with IP 192.168.1.4. as well as Pfsense VM.

Issue:

When I added a new network Device assign it the same bridge that used by Proxmox management. So,I started experiencing problems with my NFS shares. The TrueNAS server now has two IPs: the old one (192.168.50.60) and a new one on the Proxmox management subnet(172,168.40.70). After this change, the existing NFS shares on Proxmox that were using the old IP started going offline intermittently.

However, when I configured new NFS shares on Proxmox using the new IP address of TrueNAS, they worked without any issues.

Question:

Why does adding a Network Device to TrueNAS on the same subnet as Proxmox management cause my old NFS shares to drop intermittently? How can I resolve this issue without removing the new NIC?

Thank you,
