Thank you for your reply, but it wasn't much help. I think you are assuming greater knowledge of linux than I have.
I am most experienced with MacOS GUI, followed by Windows, then MacOS CLI bash on the terminal window. So a tad of Unix.
My goal is to have a running current MacOS (with or without OpenCore or Clover boot helpers), like v15 and Windows 11 running using VM on Proxmox on a ROG STRIX X870E motherboard. I keep running into different issues that stops different attempts to perform installations.
Debian does not recognise the ROG STRIX X870E motherboard's Realtek network interface (specifically the RTL8125 2.5GbE NIC and WiFi 7). I have a USB WIFI, Realtek Semiconductor Corp. 802.11ac NIC, either a RTL8821CU or potentially RTL8822CU.
The version of Proxmox I tried to use appears to have recognize this, but I am unsure if debian-trixie-DI-alpha1-amd64-netinst.iso did, and I have not been able to install drivers from realtek- r8126-dkms-main or realtek- r8152-dkms-master.
The Ethernet is not seen and the USB wifi appears to be functioning. The Wifi I am using is a Comcast Gateway with its IP: 10.0.0.1
I never see a request for internet access by requesting the password to the Gateway.
After installing, I cannot remotely connect connect to the PC running Proxmox using Chrome on a Mac on the LAN Wifi, using the IP I assigned.
I need to make sure that I am connected to the internet and I don't know how to do this either in a full installation of Debian or, what I believe is a light version with Proxmox; and I need to know its LAN IP address.
In a nutshell, I would like a work around so I can install Proxmox and at least us the USB wifi, and later the hardware ethernet and wifi.
Other issue, somewhat irrelevant to this post, I was trying to install Windows and MacOS separately and use OpenCore to boot them, instead of Proxmox, but the new boot security is preventing me from doing both.
Thank you in advance,
Patrick Ford
