Trouble Installing Proxmox from USB

I have a new build I can not seem to install Proxmox onto. I created a USB using Etcher and Proxmox 6.1 ISO.
I was able to boot up and see the Proxmox choice screen; Install and Install debug mode.
I chose install
it starts okay, but after a few moments, while counting/identifying usb components, it fails to go any further
i've tried using 2 different usb sticks. the 1st was 2GB usb 2.0 drive, the 2nd was 32 GB usb3.0. same result. The post scroll stops or tries&re-tries to identify one of my final USB devices.

I've verified the 32GB USB 3.0 drive works in a laptop. after choosing install, continued on to the expected installation walkthru.

I'm currently only using three USB ports; keyboard, mouse, and the install USB. i've tried it after detaching, same result,

it does look like the same problem. I installed 6.0 with no problem....I'll go to that thread and chime in.
