Trouble installing onto NVME drive

Hoping someone can help me with this, I'm having trouble installing onto my NVME drive and I'm not sure if I'm missing something.
My proxmox install fails as soon as it tries to partition the NVME drive and if I hit Ctrl+Alt+F2, this is the error messages I get.
I've already tried the install in debug mode and ran fdisk and removed all partitions on the NVME drive before proceeding.

My NVME drive is installed in a Dell DPWC300 SSD PCIE adapter card on a Dell R730 server (with slot bifurcation enabled).

wipefs got an I/O error trying to erase the DOS magic string.

Suggest you boot a systemrescuecd and try ' wipefs -a ' on /dev/nvme0n1

If that fails, dd zeros to the 1st 100MB or so: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/nvme0n1 bs=1M count=100 status=progress

Then I would gdisk /dev/nvme0n1 and create a new GPT partition table, and retry install

Note that I am not responsible for data loss - it is at your own risk, and up to you to a) have backups and b) enter in the correct disk device!
