Hi all,
Shortly we will have to do some work to all our nodes, whereby we will re-create the boot device/partition (switching from hardware RAID to HBA with ZFS).
Ideally, it would be nice to not have to go through the whole process of kicking the node out of the cluster, and then fully reconfiguring it all (interfaces and other things) before re-joining. Since we're going to be changing the topology of the storage using some sort of imaging tool is sadly out of the question.
Are there any scripts/helper tools out there at the moment that would allow us to effectively backup the config from the node, perform a clean install, and then restore the config over the top?
I've searched but can't seem to find anything beyond manually backing up/restoring all of the various configuration directories. It's not exactly a dealbreaker if we have to do this manually, but it sure would save some time sitting in the datacentre!
Thanks!
Jon
