Hi everyone,

Sorry if i'm being obtuse here, but I can't seem to find the thin settings for disks/volumes in PVE 7.2.

I'm working on a new installation, storage is on a ZFS pool.

I created one VM with an attached disk and noticed that it thick provisioned by deault. Thinking that I must have missed the checkbox, went back to look for it by carefully creating a new VM, and didn't see an option exposed in the GUI.

I was able to set the ZFS refreservation for the dataset to 0 and reclaim the space.

Was this something that recently changed?
Thanks!

There is a thin option checkbox at Datacenter -> Storage -> YourZFSStorage -> edit. This is unchecked by default and counts for all virtual disks stored on that storage.

Last time I looked at it, it was still there. CNTL+F5 in browaer is also always recommended after an PVE Upgrade so you aren't using a old webUI version stored in browser cache.

Ahhhh, that was my bad. I was looking at the host level, not the datacenter level.

I had modified my /etc/pve/storage.cfg to have sparse 1 which took care of the issue (and shows checked in the interface where you mentioned).

Thank you! Chalk this one up as user error. Hahah. ;)
