[SOLVED] There are two options for Prune or Retention jobs

When I create a backup job to my PBS, I can :

1- Set the retention in the backup job's retention tab
2- In the PBS, go to data store and create a Prune job

Why there are two options, how there are deferent and when should I choose each of them?

Well, you can prune only "that" backup-chain in the Backupjob, or Prune the whole Datastore with the other one. So, yes this makes sense....

Hi,
as @itNGO said, it's for flexibility, so you can have different retention settings for different jobs (and the job-specific one is also used for non-PBS backups). Please note that both server-side and client-side retention settings will be honored, so the stricter one will "win".
