The VMs are using more network bandwidth than allocated.

Hi Support,

In our proxmox node, the VMs are configured with a network limit of 12.5 Mbps, but we’ve observed it occasionally exceeding this limit and reaching up to 20 Mbps. How is this possible?

Can anyone advise what could be the reason for this? much appreciated

To narrow down the issue, I would ask:

- Only a specific VM have the issue mentioned?
- Did you double-check of the VM config specifically on the bandwidth?
-What kind of the network you use in your node SDN, or OVS?
- Did you test `iperf3`?
- Additionally, what version of Proxmox VE are you using?
