Just doing everything by hand (=adding every single VM by hand in the cluster.conf) undermines Proxmox and the whoel idea behind a GUI in general...

have you considered using the API to build a gui to manage what you need?

Maybe also the API could be improved with your suggestions, if something is missing...

Proxmox VE is much more than only a GUI, and the complete code is open source.

So you can always implement a missing feature yourself if you really require it (or pay someone to implement it).
