Haven't tried Proxmox yet, but wanting to move away from SolusVM due to their pathetic support. Where can templates be found for OVZ + KVM for Proxmox? I was told the KVM ones, all I have to do is upload an iso file and PM will convert it to a template. Is it true and that simple? What about online resources for free templates for both platforms? Thanks in advance

That's not what I said. You upload an ISO and install it in a VM. Http://turnkeylinux.org is a good place to get openvz templates
OpenVZ templates are available within the Proxmox UI.
For KVM you upload the ISO build and configure the VM and then you can convert that to a KVM template.

Thanks. So, I have to manually upload the iso file (says windows 2012 for example) to Proxmox itself?

You upload an ISO. You create a VM. You boot that VM with the ISO. You install the OS like it were physical hardware. You do basic configuration, updates,etc to the OS. Power off. Right click on it and convert to template.
To understand how this works you need to find some YouTube videos or just install Proxmox and try for yourself.
Turnkey's site is all debian related and app based. I'm looking for minimal, basic o/s VM's without preinstalled apps.
There are minimal base OS available on their site. Its called core.
There is also this giant repository on the openvz website. Also when you install proxmox it will download a lot of them for you when you pick one from the template list...
Seriously, install proxmox on a box and try this stuff out for yourself.
