TASK ERROR: unable to create CT xxxx - unsupported debian version '10.1'

Hello Everyone,

I was just trying to install CT in proxmox host for Proxmox Mail Gateway 6 , and while creating I got the error
TASK ERROR: unable to create CT 9999 - unsupported debian version '10.1'

where 9999 is my container ID ,

can anyone please help in this

Have you created the container as privileged or unprivileged?

Virtual Environment 5.4-8,

I Just download template for GUI and try to install it from there . having full root access .

hi,

please update to the latest 5.x or 6.x for support of this debian version in containers.

if you dont have enterprise, use the no-subscription repository for 5.x [0]. look through the page for more info.

which container are you talking about ?

I have proxmox installed on Metal server and want to install proxmox mail gateway on a new container and I got this error above mentioned .

You need to update your Proxmox VE installation to current version - you missed some updates recently.

Thank you for the response, Please advise as this is live sever with few containers in it, will it hurt any of the containers as all the containers are production machines .

Yes, read the documentation. If you have important production containers, test the upgrades in your testlab before you deploy it on your production workload.
