[SOLVED] TASK ERROR: permission check failed.

Hello
I have two remote PBS servers which are used as re mote sync for our main pbs system. Those had been working rock solid for a few years. However I just checked both and sync jobs have been failing since 11/11/2023 .

Questions:
1- is there a way of getting notified when a sync job fails?

2- Here is a picture of the sync job. 'Local Namespace' shows ' No namespaces accessible ' . Is that needed?

If you are not working with namespaces, this is fine.

Yes, see notifications: https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/maintenance.html#notifications
You might need the latest PBS3.2 in case you don't want to set up a mailserver like postfix yourself on that PBS.

Dunuin: thanks for the help.

Email notification is now working. I just had to put email addresses in at Configuration > Access Controls for each user. by default we have postfix working at all systems.

The sync issue started when root's password was changed last November at the sync source pbs system. Changing the password for root at Configuration > Remotes got things to work again.

From what I've written if you see any out points or ways to do things more securely then reply away. thanks again!
