[SOLVED] Tape backup: Unable to acquire lock on Tape

Hi,

I Stop an tape backup, cause it was to much for one Tape, there wasn't an aditional tape for now.

No I want to format the tape new, but got following answer:

2022-07-21T14:54:26+02:00: TASK ERROR: Unable to acquire lock "/var/lib/proxmox-backup/tape/.media-set-21817315-dd4f-429f-878b-208cc80e9ba1.lck" - Interrupted system call (os error 4)

I delete the current media too:

proxmox-tape media destroy WEEK02L8 --force

But still no format possible. Maybee the tape is damage?

OK:

after deleting /var/lib/proxmox-backup/tape/.media-set-21817315-dd4f-429f-878b-208cc80e9ba1.lck I could format the tape again,...

What's the purpose of these lockfiles?
I have plenty of them, but is it wise to delete them?
Are they maybe used by the expiry-mechanism?
