Anyone sync'ing PBS backup drives to the cloud (Google drive, or AWS S3) ?
I'm thinking of how to automate & store backups in the cloud, any direction would be appreciated

there are people doing that, but please be aware
- that you need to include the .chunks folder as well, including any empty directories there
- file permissions and names should be preserved 100%, else you'll need to manually fix things up before you can restore anything
- unless you ensure the datastore is quiet, there are no consistency guarantees

thank you. How would you recommend to periodically backup VMs/CTs to the cloud?

I was considering building a Proxmox Backup Server instance on Linode.com. My thought was to make a Remote to my home server. But the Linode storage was too expensive for my taste.

Currently, I am doing manual backups and encrypting/uploading them to a cheaper cloud storage provider using rclone. It supports many storage providers, but I haven't found one that is also compatible with PBS.

Does anyone know of a cloud storage provider that is compatible with PBS? Does PBS work with, say, AWS or Google?

Here is an interesting missive from 2013: Using cloud services as glorified drive: iSCSI targets
I believe that Microsoft Azure offers this. Haven't looked at pricing yet.

Also found this. Interesting.
