I would like some suggestions for Proxmox as I sincerely like the hypervisor:

- When uploading an ISO, transfer this to the background so we can still use the webinterface within the same TAB.
- Maybe an NoVNC alternative, as ProxMox also provides SPICE support, but there are 'better' versions of remote access terminals which work more fluently as well.
- Maybe integrate DHCP pools for IPv4 and IPv6?

I will keep this thread updated.

FYI, you can workaround this by simply opening the interface in another tab.

Which ones, are they open source, are they integratable with QEMU VMs in an OS-independent way?

IIRC there's already a bugzilla entry for that..

IMO such a thread will get crowded fast, it'd be better to just open specific (handling only one single thing) enhancement requests over at: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/

Thanks for your reply, and sorry for the late response.

Why would I need to open another tab to bypass the ISO uploads, is it not possible to just transfer it in the background?
As webbrowser takes more memory when opening multiple tabs, it would be non-efficient to do so..

Well I will keep an eye on Bugzilla for that.

Well, NoMachine NX is one. As there should be an VNC alternative where you can copy and paste in and use it as an alternative to a simple 'SSH' terminal with a graphical interface.

As a workaround if you need it now, I did not suggest that this was the best/final solution :)

Depends on the Browser, Firefox copes pretty well with that here - having 100dreds of tabs open just fine, Chromium doesn't so well yeah.

SPICE can do that, also can xterm.js - if you add a serial port and let the VM listen with a getty on that it could be used, IIRC.

Seems like a fat client without developer integrations docs, also you can already use that like any VM dependent remote desktop clients.

Also it looks like freeware, at least I did not find any source code link on the home page. We won't integrate proprietary projects directly into Proxmox projects.. But as said, you can already use it if you want, just install it inside a VM.

Well gonna look into this, thanks for your reply :)

FYI: SPICE needs the vdagent installed in the VM, then it gains quite some abillities, among others USB sharing from client to VM and automatic resolution change on window resize.

Hi!

I would like to leave a suggestion about Disk wearout level, shown in web GUI. I believe that value is cached, since CLI command (smartctl) returns (direct) different value, as you can see here (/dev/sda) :

1624972365212.png

it shows 1% of wearout. When i double click on /dev/sda i get:

1624972458966.png

and also CLI command:
smartctl -a /dev/sda
returns 2 (i presume that this is Wearout % value), look at ID 177 line):

For few days now i follow this values and i also know that for most people this is not an issue, but still: values shown are not correct one.
If any dev have a spare time to set this to be little bit more accurate would be great. I know there is nothing else to do on this hot days

the value is not cached, we use the 'normalized' value that has a value between 0 and 100. the 'raw' value has no defined meaning across vendors/disks, so we cannot use that
