Good afternoon all,

I started playing around with Proxmox from over a year now and is being an amazing experience.
I recently bought a new server and therefore I would like to have your opinion about possible configurations.
Current configuration:
  • i7 9700
  • 1 x 256gb ssd nvme
  • 32gb ram
I bought a second server with this configuration:
  • i7 9700
  • 1 x 512gb ssd nvme
  • 1 x 512gb ssd
  • 24gb ram
I also bought an additional 256gb ssd that I am planning to use on the first server.
On the current configuration I have lvm storage configuration.
My current strategy is to create a sort of raid1 (mirroring) for each node and then use Gluster (or Ceph?) for wrap both server into one shared storage.

What is the best approach to achieve the high redundancy goal (and maybe high availability?) ?

Thank you very much for your help!

Alessandro

In that case I would use ZFS replication and a raspi as qdevice. For Ceph you need more than two nodes. Not sure about GlusterFS.

You can use gluster with two nodes and third as an arbiter, but i don't know if this will be fast enough for you.
