Subscription costs

Hopefully I am posting in the right thread, apologies if not.

I am trying to cost up the subscription for my current VM farm and I am a bit unclear on one thing.

I have a couple of Dell R510s in the farm, which have two sockets but only one CPU. These boxes are never going to be upgraded, and the money people are never going to agree to pay for something that will never be used.

So, if I get a subscription for these boxes, will I be charged per CPU or per CPU socket?

per physical CPU (emtpy CPU sockets do not count).
