Strange behaviour with shared SMB storage

Hello!

Would anyone please propose any idea why this can be happening:

There's a shared folder on a FreeBSD 13.1\Samba server that I'm using as the location for shared storage. I can load ISO-files to this storage in Proxmox with the maximum network speed. Here's the example (the screenshot taken on the FreeBSD server BETATEST when I was copying the file "manually" (I mean I just copied/pasted it instead of using Proxmox - in both cases the speed is ~ the same):

- so far so good... Nevertheless, when it comes to creating a VM or a container - with the image located on THIS shared storage (= the folder \\betates\adshare) - the process either hangs or would last for days (and will eventually fail anyway!).

From the \\betatest's point of view it looks like (almost) no packets are coming to betatest's re0 interface -the incoming speed is just ~6-13 KB/s instead of ~100 MB/s.

If I try to create that same VM (with the same OS installed from the same ISO) using another shared storage - Debian\SMB share - it works as expected (the network speed ~100MB/s).

Since I'd like to use FreeBSD servers for shared storage I'd like to know whether this problem may be caused by the particular betatest's hardware or maybe there're some known (or unknown) issues with FreeBSD servers serving as shared storage (with the SAMBA shares on FreeBSD servers)...?

Thank you in advance,
Michael Firsov

P.S. Maybe this problem pertains not to copying the files but to growing the image on the shared storage AFTER all the files needed for OS installation have been already copied, but anyhow all procedures with the VM or container are very slow from the very first step!
