Stopped booting

My Proxmox box has been running fine for months, and then all of sudden crashes and won't boot. I am not the most savvy linux admin but I usually can scrape by with little web search. I'm not figuring out how to get the box to boot again. Anyone have any clues for me? Here is a picture of the screen. I think the most significant line is

run-init: can't execute '/sbin/init': input/output error

Again this was working fine then just crashed. What am I dealing with here? Disk failure? Bad block? Bad update?

The issue (for me at least) is that Proxmox VE ships with "quiet" boots, it would be good to have it boot with full output, see here:

That will not fix your issue but you get more context on why it can't even find init.

Thanks, that gave me a bunch of inode errors. So I booted to live USB and ran fsck, looks like the boot disk is toast. Thanks for that link it really helped a lot.

Thanks too, glad it helped straight away. Please leave a like/comment on the linked "tutorial" as well, as it will make obvious how many people needed to resort to it. I literally made it last night because you were the second person asking within a few hours.
