I attempted to move VGA support to a VM to help with transcoding. Now Proxmox starts to boot up, but ulitimatly fails once one of my VMs is loaded.

Prior to ending up at this point, I went into to /etc/default/grub, to update this:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet intel_iommu=on"

I then went into the add the PCI hardware. That is when Proxmox shut down and I have not been able bring it back up.

I am unable to use nano, so is there another way I can update that line above to "quiet" from the grub command line?

or is there a way that that I can stop the VM from booting on start up from the grub command line?

I am currently using 5.4.34.

Press the e key when the GRUB menu screen is displayed? This should allow you to change the kernel parameters for one time.
If you have a VM that automatically starts and causes problems, try removing intel_iommu=on in the same way to prevent it from starting.

I truly appreciate your help. I saw that and thought it was just my drives. I didn't even see the iommu. After 2 days of my server being down, it is now back up. Let me know how I can buy you a coffee or a beer.
