Hello,
I'm quite new here on this forum, but I have a problem.
A long time ago I had Proxmox 7 and it ran great. Now I wanted to try version 8. This is possible on another PC, but when I start a VM I get the message "start failed qemu exited with code 1"
I thought it was a wrong ISO file, but with another ISO file I get the same error message.
Now I don't really know how to solve this.
I've read something about it, but I can't figure it out.
Please don't give too complicated answers.
My English is not so good.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
please share the output of pveversion -v and qm config <ID> replacing <ID> the actual ID of the VM. If you open the VM <ID> - Start task log in the UI (double click), can you see any additional message? Otherwise, check the system logs/journal from around the time of the issue.

Hi,
This is what I see in shell with pveversion -v
I don't understand the rest with qm config <ID>.
As I already wrote, I'm not very familiar with complicated commands
In the past I had Proxmox 7 and got it working without any problems.
Maybe you can help me further with this??

I have also followed several YouTube videos and performed exactly the same thing.
I have also reinstalled version 8 4 times, but I always get the same message.

I don't understand the rest with qm config <ID>.
For example, if you have VM 100, write qm config 100

If you open the VM <ID> - Start task log in the UI (double click), can you see any additional message?
This is in the bottom panel in the UI where you have Tasks and Cluster Log.

Otherwise, check the system logs/journal from around the time of the issue.
You can run journalctl -b > /tmp/journal.txt and share the file it produces, i.e. /tmp/journal.txt.

Hi,
Here's just a screenshot.
VM 100 - Start I get "command not found"
I'm really a beginner with these kinds of commands

Hello everyone,
I just tried to reinstall Proxmox 8, created a VM, but somehow it doesn't work.
Too many error codes.
This program is probably too ambitious for me.
I don't understand much of some commands.
Thanks for your thoughts, but I decided to stop after 4 days of trying.
Too hard for me.
Thanks again
