Is this normal kernel message for Dual-CPU Supermicro-Nehalem-Server using
the latest PVE-Kernel (2.6.32-7). As far as I understand timedift is bad for multicore
machines. I'm using default settings regarding energy saving etc.
Somebody knows whats the meaning of the message for response/stability
of the machine?
Background: After two weeks working fine it crashed two times without
response to anything (had to do a cold boot) using the older pve 2.6.32
kernel. This is quite bad since our old "consumer PhenomIIX4" didn't crash
one over a year, and the big machine did two times after a few days.
Maybe something was wrong with power supply (now connected to USV)
but I unfortunately doubt it was.
Additionally the Ethernet knocked off when moving the TBytes.
It came back after a eth0 UP. Hmmm....what might happen to
automaticly "down" an ethernet port? Where to look for the reason?
84:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82571EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06)
01:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01)
Many thanks in advance
