Hi, I want to offer use ssmtp instead of postfix in pve-manager depends.

Because ssmtp more light and don`t listen any infaces.

What do you think about it?

I don't want to dump 10 years postfix experience.

Ok, I understand you =)

Can I promise you to change depends for pve-manager so I can use ssmtp or another MTA for my choice ?

Depends: perl5, libtimedate-perl, apache2-mpm-prefork, postfix (>= 2.2.8) | mail-transport-agent

I agree it would be a good thing, I see no reason why a host would allow incoming mail, so a lightweight send-only MTA would be better than a heavy full featured like postfix.

Postfix is very lightweight, easy to configure, but is also full featured - so I see no reason to replace that.
