SSD Cache on PVE Server

I have 4x servers each with an aging Dell Perc 5x controller with 512Mb cache. I want to install a Linux SSD cache solution over the top of this, just for kicks. There are plenty of sub $60 SSD drives and one for each server sounds just the trick.

I imagine the solution would use b-cache or dm-cache, but the outdated kernel (2.6.32) does not look good for this.

Is there a solution?

Hi Carlos,

if you don't use VZContainers, then you can upgrade to 3.10 Kernel.

I'm also interested. Once you have completed and tested your setup, could you please report back here how to enable ssd cache, tricks or special configuration you put in place, and/or tutorials you have followed? Maybe also a wiki page would be great. Thanks in advance.
