SR-IOV blacklist VF on host (but use interface anyway)

Theoretically, the physical function should stay active, since it doesn't use the ixgbevg virtual function driver that is blacklisted. So yes, a vmbr can be attached to that.

But to be sure, I would just test it out. Don't enable the systemd service mentioned in the tutorial you linked, and just execute the commands by hand, then check if your physical interface is still available.
