SPF verification when sender is Empty

Hey all!

I've been looking around the forum and searched quite a bit myself, but can't seem to find someone with a similar issue.

We're experiencing emails with empty "senders" that do not show any senders in the tracking center.
When receiving the email and inspecting it in the client, there is a very clear "from" address, and "From:" header is present, but this header doesn't seem to get picked up in PMG. my best bet is the from address is supplied in the E-Mail itself and not set as a "sender" from the sending SMTP server.

Is there a way to enforce SPF checks on things like this, as the logs in PMG suggests that both Sender and return-path are completely empty.

It's unfortunately not possible to simply make a rule to block anything where "from" matches our own domains, as we have some external SMTP services included in our SPF record with legitimate messages, that sometimes need to be sent back into our internal system.

Thanks in advance!
