spamassassin and clamav not updated by pmg-daily

Hi all,

I am using pmg 8.1.2
I can update spamassassin and clamav without problems manually (through the webinterface).

automatic updates appear to work only for

kam.sa-channels.mcgrail.com

but never for

updates.spamassassin.org

or the "clamav daily" database.

pmg-daily seems to run normally:

anything I need to enable?

should update by default (there is not explicit setting for this) - maybe there are just no new updates ?

I periodically check the status of the updates in the web ui. there I see that new versions are available, but they are not installed automatically. when I press the update button, then the updates are installed without problems. but of course it would be niver if they'd be installed automatically.

hm, I checked the last few days, and indeed it seems the updates are happening now. (not sure what caused this work suddenly)

I would like to push this Threat, because I'm experiencing the very same issue. I can update ClamAV manually but it doesn't update automatically. There is nothing in the Syslog to find for ClamAV except when i hit the button.

Is there any chance to see why it isn't updating automatically? pmg-daily runs every day at about 5:00

ClamAV is updated through claman-freshclam.service (which should run constantly)

It seems you're having issues with automatic updates for Spamassassin and ClamAV. In Proxmox MG, make sure cron jobs are correctly set up for updating these components. You can check system logs to see if any attempts to fetch updates from those sources are logged.

Additionally, ensure that network connectivity to the update servers is stable. Some network restrictions (e.g., firewall) might cause issues. Try forcing a manual update via the terminal and see if there are any errors.
