Some VE compatible Openfiler alternative?

Openfiler looks like a great solution for providing your own iSCSI for the other VE / VM. Unfortunatly it does not seem possible to run it as a VE, and I would not want my iSCSI server to have virtualized IO, as it's IO performance is critical to *all* other VE / VM in that use-case.

I do not understand your posting. you should install openfiler on dedicated hardware, not virtualized.

I am not given the choice! I rent my servers, and like with so many providers, I have the choice of Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu and a few other pre-installed images. No "Console" access to the server means "no ISO image installation" (AFAIK. Workaround?).
