Some advice for a newbie in Proxmox.

I know ESXi.
I cannot install a recent version on a Dell server that is no longer compatible, but still with a good hardware configuration.
I don't know Proxmox and I am approaching this with a lot of interest.

I have to install a server with these Virtual Machines inside:
  1. A NAS, like OMV.
  2. A firewall like IPFire or OPMSense.
  3. Guacamole for external access
  4. Nextcloud, possibly integrated with the shared folders in OMV
I thought of placing all these Virtual Machines in a DMZ managed by the firewall.
In ESXI I would have created three virtual switches by assigning them to the three network adapters of the firewall: Green, Red and Orange.
Can I also create them in ProxMox?

I would venture to delete the server with OMV installed to install Proxmox hoping to do it all in one day and deliver the job Monday afternoon.
With ESXi I could do it. Am I too optimistic with Proxmox?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can do whatever you want in PVE, it's not like VMware, where you cannot do things in an efficient way. I hate to work with VMware, if you're used to the possibilities of PVE.

If you want to just use integrated stuff: PVE has a stateful firewall integrated where you can have a firewall per VM. That is extremely useful and you can apply virtual DMZ rules to every VM that has a security group applied.

Am I too optimistic with Proxmox?

Depends on your knowledge, but it is completely doable.
