Hello,

I want to add 2 cores to a Windows 10 Pro VM i installed with 2 cores. My Xeon has 8 cores.
I shut down the VM, modify the CPU to add 2 cores, restart the VM but Windows does not detect the additional cores.

Am I doing something wrong?

Best regards,

Restart isn't enough, you have to stop the VM and start it again. Take a look at the PVE GUI, there you will see the pending changes.

Thank you for your reply. Indeed stoping the machine in full flight was what was needed. Shutting it down the restarting it was not enough.
