EDIT:
Happily, in the course of writing this post, I found the data in /dev/dm-1, but nonetheless it remains quite disturbing.
Does anyone care to speculate/theorize as to how this could have happened?
Fortunately I have a recent backup, but it is disturbing nonetheless.
I have a fileserver that I want to replace. I wanted the new fileserver to have the same ctid as the old one, so I mv'ed it from 105.conf to 106.conf, and eventually to 107.conf.
The entry for the storage is still in the ctid.conf file:
But the storage itself has somehow disappeared. I cannot even vgcfgrestore it
