Snapshots option grayed out

Hi,

I have a brand new proxmox server with just local storage. I have noticed that none of the VMs running on it have the Snapshot option enabled. The server has been restarted, we have checked times, etc... but no luck. Disks are qcow2. I have seen previous posts like this on the forum but they where regarding a mix between Proxmox 2.X and 3.X boxes and none of the has helped so far. Any hints?.

snapshot is grayed out if 1 of the vm disk don't support snapshot (raw file for example).

can you post your vmid.conf ?

Thanks a lot for your response. Currently I have not direct access to the machine so it will take a wile to get the information. But I will probably have one or more VMs whose disk is configured as raw (just for performance). Do you recommend migrating it to qcow2?

qcow2 have always a little overhead for write vs raw file, but this is needed for snapshot.

I think you should bench it to compare yourself with your specific workload.
