Hi,

I have a brand new proxmox server (with 7 hosts) with iscsi/LVM storage. I have migrated over 100 VMs from VMware to Proxmox (qcow2). Everything working fine except snapshot. Even though I installed a container.
Did I missed anything during the configuration or need to edit any config file.

Thanks

Your underlying storage needs to support snapshots. I'm not totally sure, but I think LVM on iscsi does not. qcow2 should. See this table for snapshot compatability: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage

So for a shared storage with snapshot feature this would mean ceph, ZFS-over-ISCSI or qcow2 on NFS/SMB/GlusterFS.

Just to add to @Dunuin's correct statement:

This implies that you are using regular/Thick LVM. In this configuration snapshots are not supported.
I have migrated over 100 VMs from VMware to Proxmox (qcow2).
If you migrated your VMs to Thick LVM based storage in Proxmox, then your VM disks are stored as Raw block images, backed by LVM slices. They are not QCOW2 files.
