Snapshots for LXC container - vdisk on ZFS pool

I have several LXC containers whose disks are stored on a ZFS storage pool. I would like to be able to create snapshots of these containers but the Promox snapshot tab indicates the following error -

"The current guest configuration does not support taking new snapshots"

I have several VMs installed on the same ZFS pool and snapshots work fine for the VMs. What do I need to do to be able to take snapshots of my LXC containers?

Also, I believe the Proxmox is installed on a ZFS mirror.
