Hi Team,

As part of our infrastructure enhancement, we’re planning to implement Proxmox 8.in our environment. We have a DELL MD3620 iSCSI storage array that we intend to use as a shared datastore across all Proxmox cluster nodes.

Our primary requirements are:
  1. The storage must be accessible by all cluster nodes (shared storage configuration).
  2. Snapshot capability for virtual machines hosted on this storage.
We need clear direction on how best to achieve this with Proxmox and the MD3620.

Thank you for your quick response.

I wanted to check — do we have an expected date for the final release of Proxmox VE 9.0

That’s great to hear!

Since Proxmox VE 9.0 has been officially released on August 5, 2025, just wanted to confirm — are we good to proceed with deploying our production infrastructure on this version?

Please let us know if there are any considerations or known limitations we should be aware of before moving forward

Hi @Sandeep1970,

You should start by carefully reviewing the PVE 9.0 release notes, paying particular attention to the Known Limitations section. Check the forum for recent user reports and assess whether any of the issues discussed might apply to your setup.

In general, if Proxmox GmbH releases a product, they consider it production ready. That said, remember that the no-subscription (free) repository is not recommended for production use by Proxmox GmbH. If you subscribe to the Enterprise repository, you’ll also have the option to discuss readiness with their sales team or an official PVE Partner in your region.

Without knowing your environment, requirements, or business priorities, no one here can give you a definitive “yes” or “no.”

In short: do your research, assess the risks, and make an informed decision.

Good luck!

Please note, that this forum is open to all. The Proxmox GmbH staff members have a special moniker next to their name. I am not one of them. Just helping with your question.

To help other forum member orient better, if you consider this thread solved you can edit the initial post and use the drop down next to the subject to mark it solved.
