Hi All,
Hope every one doing well.
I am using proxmox3.3, I took multiple snapshots for my testing vm.

What i got doubt is, where are these snapshots files are stored? or for this snapshot which storage space it took?

Thanks so much for advance

you talk about KVM live snapshots? http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Live_Snapshots

which storage do you use? qcow2 on your filesystem? snapshot will also be there. check your VM config file:

> cat /etc/pve/nodes/NODE-NAME/qemu-server/VMID.conf

Hi Tom,
Thank you so much for your response. as per your update,
1. snapshot will store VM storage only right? or else
with out creating extra files, it will create any logical links....

are there any way to analyze why a snapshot fails ? or doesnt finished ? snapshot done via HTML Interface inclusive RAM on KVM Vm stored on storage via Nfs4 172.16.0.6:/export/Storage /mnt/pve/Storage nfs4 rw,noatime,vers=4.0,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,port=0,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=172.16.0.5,local_lock=none,addr=172.16.0.6 0 0 and are there any way to redirect a snapshot to the local storage ?

Snapshots, if available, are created using the file system's onboard tools and can then be taken there as normal. So without knowing how your VM is configured and which FS you are using, you can't answer that.

Otherwise, please don't dig up old threads, please start a new thread.
