Good day!
I have encountered a problem, my mail gateway rejects messages via the SMTPUTF8 protocol.
Please tell me why it is disabled by default in mail gateways and what security implications does this pose?

Why do you think it is disabled in PMG?
There is an option to disable it - if it causes problems with downstream servers - I assume that your problem might be related to this - but please share logs else it is not possible to tell for sure.

See the postfix documentation for some background:
https://www.postfix.org/SMTPUTF8_README.html

Check settings on mail and gateway:
  • (mail server) If Your mail server use postfix, simple check on mail server with cli command "postconf smtputf8_enable"
  • (proxmox mail gateway) Also can check on pmg Administration -> Console , then use cli command "postconf smtputf8_enable"
