Hello everyone, I noticed that every now and then there are some email messages related to an error on the sector by Smart daemon. The test, however, shows me the opposite that the smart state is Ok!

whats the output of
Code:
smartctl -a /dev/sda
?

the 'PASSED' state is what smarctl gives for the state, it does not necessarily mean everythings ok with all attributes

First of all, thank you for answering, I'll send you the report of the command you just mentioned to me

seems you did not post the complete output (there are many things missing)

looks ok so far (besides the one current pending sector), i'd keep an eye on the disk though, since pending sectors are usually not a good sign...
as i said 'PASSED' it was smartctl reports for the general state (should be relatively at the beginning of the 'smartctl -a' output)

Yes, I apologize. I didn't realize I left out the 1 part .....

seems you did not post the complete output (there are many things missing)

looks ok so far (besides the one current pending sector), i'd keep an eye on the disk though, since pending sectors are usually not a good sign...
as i said 'PASSED' it was smartctl reports for the general state (should be relatively at the beginning of the 'smartctl -a' output)
Hi, have you been able to evaluate if the problem exists after listing the log in full? Thank you

i already said that the overall 'PASSED' value does not necessarily mean the disk is fine. and the message you got about the pending sectors is still correct:

197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 100 100 050 Old_age Always - 1
(the 1 at the end means it has one 'current pending sector')

so the message is correct

i'd monitor the disk and see if it's making problems, but smart values are generally not that good in telling if the disk is working fine or broken
