I have a 1TB SSD for my Proxmox VE install and VM/CT storage. I seem to have allocated 100GB to local but it is now full and I can't upgrade Proxmox to v8 without 5GB free. local-lvm which has all CTs, is on the same physical disk and has only 12% in use.

Can I reallocate some free space from local-lvm to increase local?

I found some other posts on the forum but none solved my issue.

Thanks!

You need to combine shrinking/reducing the local-lvm with expanding root LVM. There are may guides on the net:
https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-expand-and-shrink-lvm-volumes/

Make a backup of your data, a wrong step in these manipulation can lead to data loss.

The other option is if your stored VMs on your root disk - move them to local-lvm.

Third option is to manually create a slice out of local-lvm, partition and format it, mount and then move whatever you stored on your rootdisk (ISO?) to the new location.

Good luck
