Show list of files deleted since a specific date / between two

Hello,

We are currently testing a migration from VMware to Proxmox. As part of this project, we are evaluating the possibility of replacing our existing backup solution and extending backup coverage to our physical servers using Proxmox Backup Server (PBS)

I would like to know if there is any plan to add a feature in Proxmox Backup Server that would allow users to easily view or list files that have been deleted between two dates (or since a given date) for restoration purposes.

Is anything like this already planned for a future release, or is it something the team would consider adding?

Yes, although probably not in the short run. Could not find an issue related to VM backups so feel free to open an enhancement request at https://bugzilla.proxmox.com and link to this thread for reference. This probably requires to map and mount the filesystems of the 2 snapshots in the restore VM to compare and keep track of new, modified and vanished files.

Currently there is some functionality for file level backups to achieve this, although limited. See https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3828
