Hello,

I have a Proxmox with an LVM-Thin storage data of 5.9TB.
I have multiple Windows VMs on which I need the same files.
What is the best pratice for a shared storage space accessible by all the VMs?
- Create a Windows VM with a file share
- Create a TrueNAS VM
- Other ? more adapted ? faster ?

Thanks for your ideas
Fabien

You possibly want some kind of NAS or SMB server. Smallest CPU/RAM usage should be a SMB server running inside a LXC. For example an OpenMediaVault LXC. I wouldn't use TrueNAS with its ZFS unless you plan to passthrough a complete HBA. And a Windows VM would work but a less ressource hungry linux VM would do the job too.
