hi all, having installed Proxmox for the first time today, I can't find how to do the equivalent of shared folders in VMWare.
I have a folder on a TruenNAS SMB share which is accessible to all VMs in VMWare and other physical devices on the network. This makes it easy to move information between VMs and other devices.
How can I do that in Proxmox?

After adding a SMB/CIFS share under Datacentre»Storage, it becomes available to be mounted as a hard disk on the VMs. But "add hard disk" only seems to create a virtual hard disk on the share that I mentioned before, instead of using it as a shared folder, that can be read/written by other machines.
How can I do this?

thanks

Although the technology to do what you want exists, its not integrated into PVE interfaces. You will be much better off using the CIFS/NFS capability of your truenas. Export the folder you want via your favorite protocol, then mount it INSIDE the VM, using the native VM OS tools.
