Setting syslog size and # of rotations

I've been digging around forums for quite a bit but keep hitting a bump in the road.

I'd like to set syslog size and the # of rotations.

For size; Where is the file? I keep hitting /etc/syslog.conf but it's blank?
For rotatinos: where is the file? I keep hitting /etc/logrotate.d/rsyslog but it's blank also?

Could some one let me know where those 2 things on in the proxmox world? Is it normal to have them blank by default? (feeling that's a big no)

So with PVE8 there is no syslog unless you manually install the "rsyslog" package.
