Hi everyone,
I'm running Proxmox VE on a server with a Hygon (海光) CPU, a domestic x86-compatible processor from China. However, I’ve encountered a serious performance issue: when running fio tests inside a virtual machine, the VM's I/O performance is only about 10% of the host's native performance. On Intel-based platforms, the performance drop is nowhere near this severe.
Has anyone had similar experiences with Hygon CPUs on PVE? Are there any recommended tweaks or better approaches to improve virtualization performance on this platform?
Any suggestions or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I’ll keep an eye on this thread and really appreciate any input. I’ve enabled email notifications for any replies. Thanks again!
