Hello there
hope this finds you very well

i am very interesting to work with PMG but i have many questions ?

- how to send and receive to/from all external domains without adding them to the "relay domain", since it is headache to specify gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc ... to the "relay domains" ? is there any simple to send or receive from all domains ?

-how i can configure the Filter rules , i see some default rules and it is working by priority ?for example how to configure basic rule that block :
any email have attachment from any domain to my domain (abc.com)

- as i understood PMG is open source ,should i have valid subscription to use it , or i can use without limitation for any mailboxes i have, and keep myself up to date in both spam and virus database updates..

thank you very much

The PMG differentiates between incoming and outgoing mails. For incoming mails you need to define relay domains. Those domains should be the ones for which you want to receive mails.

If you plan to send outgoing mail from your mail server via the PMG you need to send this traffic to port 26 which the PMG does forward the mails without relay domains configured. Access to port 26 is limited to the local network by default. You could further tighten it down to only accept mails from your mail servers IP address.

In the mail filter you can create your own rules. The rules are executed according to their priority. Or as you see them in the GUI from the top down. Until a rule with a final action is triggered. Check out the according section in the manual for more details: https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#chapter_mailfilter

Yes, PMG is open source and there is no limit regarding features. A subscription gets you access to the enterprise repository which contains the best tested updates and, depending on the subscription level, access to our enterprise support.
The lifecycle of a new package version through the different repositories is roughly this: test -> no subscription -> enterprise

If you haven't seen it yet, check out the "Getting Started" section in our PMG wiki: https://pmg.proxmox.com/wiki/index.php/Getting_started_with_Proxmox_Mail_Gateway
And the PMG manual: https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html

Good to hear :)

I did mark the thread as solved. You can also do so yourself in the future by editing the first post and selecting the according prefix in the dropdown menu next to the title.
