Selectively backup individual disks attached to VM?

Hi,

Is it possible to have separate backup jobs (at the PVE level) for individual disks attached to a VM?

I have a VM running that has four disks attached to it. I would like to back them up (to PBS) individually, as they might fail individually and contain unrelated data.

MY guess is that this is not possible (at the PVE level) but that it would be possible with the PBS client installed in the VM. Can someone confirm?

Your assumption is correct. On the PVE level, you can only mark disks to not be included altogether, but you cannot have separate backup jobs, targeting different disks of a VM.

Using the PBS CLI client inside the VM could work in your case.
