Select node IP for Cluster

Regarding to https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/change-node-ip-in-existing-cluster.25718
I try to add new node to be cluster member,this node have 2 eth connections
1. for WAN
2. for LAN
but if I try to add it to the cluster using both WAN / LAN IPs
the /etc/pve/.members take only the WAN ip and not the LAN IP
why?
any suggestion?
