We have as clean install of 2.1 that the search functions are not working on. Mail is processing fine, everything else looks to be working, but the search feature simply returns 0 results (immediately) on every search. Any ideas?

strange, never seen this. check the /var/log/syslog if you have any issues there. maybe you should open a support ticket a support@proxmox.com, providing your login credentials that our support can access via ssh (you need to open the firewall for our IP 213.129.239.114)
provide also the detailed hardware/platform description.
