Hi everybody, I'm planning replace my old provxmox ve 2.2 server with new one, I'm thinking about data storage, the mainboard is supermicro X10SRL-F with intel c612 10sata port controller.
I have also a LSI MegaRAID 9261-8I 512MB Cache and Backup Battery.
Do you think is better to use Hardware Raid or ZFS RAID10 on motherboard controller?
Thank you

Sorry - should have read more carefully before I replied. The LSI running RAID10 will probably outperform ZFS on speed, and will use far less memory. As long as I had enough RAM I would still choose ZFS for its reliability, resiliency and reduced risk of silent corruption. Several articles have seen reported lower performance from motherboard (chipset) SATA ports when compared with an external RAID card configured for JBOD. I don't know specifics of the C612 SATA port performance, but it should be easy enough to compare those with the LSI ports.
